The new venture “Neuberg DIGIPATH, Powered by OptraSCAN® Inc.” will focus on providing advanced and affordable digital pathology solutions.
Dubai, 5th February 2019: Neuberg Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd., one of the top 4 diagnostics service providers in India and OptraSCAN® Inc., the US-based global digital pathology solutions provider today announced launching of Global TELEPath™ Network for the pathologist community in UAE, India and South Africa under a new joint venture namely, “Neuberg DIGIPATH, Powered by OptraSCAN®Inc.” The joint venture is in its initial phase and will be formed in three months. The announcement was made at the annual event for the international medical laboratory community, MedLab 2019 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Global TELEPath™ Network, promoted by OptraSCAN was launched in US and European region last year.
The joint venture combines the exceptional histopathology and cytology services provided by Neuberg Diagnostics Network with advanced digital pathology capabilities offered by OptraSCAN and brings to the table a whole new array of services related to digitization of tissue slides and telepathology with an objective of making new-age life-saving healthcare technology available to humankind. The joint venture promises access to a large pool of histopathologists – who diagnose and study diseases using expert medical interpretation of cells and tissue samples – from UAE, India and South Africa. Histopathology is, among other applications, integral to cancer management through the staging and grading of tumours.

Adding more feathers to his cap, he has been named as the "parallel entrepreneur" by Forbes and the "first generation serial entrepreneur" by many.
Ever since his humble beginnings in 1988, he has been tirelessly working to make healthcare accessible and affordable not only to the Indian population but to the entire underprivileged population across the world. His vision, determination and futuristic approach enabled the common man to access quality medical technology, diagnostic services, eye care, dental care and dialysis services, which were once unaffordable for the people of all classes. All of his corporate ventures are aligned with one goal – improving access and affordability of healthcare with relevance to the under developed and developing markets.
The year was 1997 when he founded Trivitron Healthcare. Ever since its inception, the organization established tie-ups with several world leaders in medical technology. As a result, Trivitron now stands as a largest medical technology company of Indian origin catering over 20 medical specialties across the globe.
Uplifting the status of Trivitron from trader to manufacturer, he established the Trivitron Medical Technology Park, South Asia's first state-of- the-art medical technology manufacturing facility. Dr. Velu earned his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, an MBA from Loyola Institute of Business Administration and a Doctorate from IBAM, Kolkata. He has been a part of various global organizations gaining expertise in medical technology.
Abhi is an alumnus of IIT Mumbai and Stanford University Graduate school of Business. He specializes in startups and product management. With over 4 successful startups to his credit as founder, investments in over 9 startups, 17 international patents and an active member of leading angel groups in Bay Area, Abhi handholds startups from ideas to commercialization.
Abhi serves as a Board of Director at TiE Silicon Valley andEPPIC Global. Earlier Abhi worked for Siemens Medical before his first entrepreneurial venture, BioImagene that was acquired later by Roche Diagnostics for $100mn. Optra Ventures is an early stage venture investment in Medical Devices and Digital Healthcare with Optra Systems, OptraSCAN and Optra Health as three group companies.Abhi isa member of Sand Hill Angels as well asa medical advisory board member of Frost and Sullivan.

Dr. Jayaram N Iyengar is renowned in the Indian Medical Community for his expertise in Histopathology. He has been a consultant Pathologist at Anand Diagnostic Laboratory (Now Anand Diagnostic Laboratory – A Neuberg Associate & Neuberg Anand Reference Laboratory) since 1988 and currently holds the position of Managing Director at these sister organisations. Dr. Jayaram is often recognised as the silent force behind bringing in operational excellence that has brought Anand to the position it holds today. His no-nonsense approach to errors caused by negligence has ensured significant process improvements and training protocols across the laboratory that reduce the incidence of human errors.
Dr. Jayaram completed his MD in Pathology from PGIMER Chandigarh India in 1987 andwas awarded the Silver Medal in Pathology during that Academic year. His dissertation was on “Auto-antibody profile in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus”. Following his MD, Dr. Jayaram has completed a senior residency in the departments of Cytology & Gynaecological Pathology, and Immunopathology from 1987 to 1988 at PGIMER Chandigarh, served as Adjunct Professor Pathology – KMC Mangalore, served as Visiting Professor of Pathology M S Ramaiah Medical College (2006) and served as Visiting Professor of Pathology International Medical School – Bangalore. His career is dotted with many awards and recognitions including the Excellence in Teaching Award – JNMC Belgaum 2000, Kamavva Raju Bapaiah& Sarojini Devi Oration – AP Chapter of KCIAPM 2002, Ernest Fernandez Award by Indian Academy of Cytologists – December 2002, Dr. P N Wahi, Academy Oration award by Indian Academy of Cytologists – November 2009, Nephrology Association of Karnataka – April 2014, and the MRParthasarathy & AVRamaprasad Oration - JNMC Belgaum June 2016.
Dr. Jayaram is also active in multiple academic forums and has held many positions of office. These include being Fellow of Indian College of Pathologists, Editor of Journal of Cytology (the official journal of Indian Academy of Cytologists) from 1995 till 2002, Member of editorial board of Indian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology, Joint Secretary IAPM from the year 1998 to 2001, Hon. President of Indian Academy of Cytologists – 2008-2009, Vice- President Indian Society of Renal and Transplant Pathology – 2010, President Indian Society of Renal and Transplant Pathology – 2012-13, and President of Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists – Karnataka Chapter 2011-2013 among many others.
Apart from actively pursuing his subject everyday as a Pathologist, teaching medical students, and conducting audits both nationally and internationally as a lead assessor of NABL, Dr. Jayaram has conducted, or been a faculty of, over 100 slide seminars, symposia and workshops throughout his career along with authoring and co-authoring over 30 journal articles.
